Screen Casting – EDM 510

I used QuickTime Player to create my video. QuickTime Player is an Apple product that can be used to create videos, screen casts, and images. I choose to create a video with instructions for parents on how to access their student’s e-mail account, Google Classroom, and iReady. Creating the video was very simple. I had to Google how to add audio, but it was nothing more than 2 clicks.

With the devastating news that we will not return to school this year, I am really gearing up to make my online “classroom” the best that it can be. This tool will be more useful than ever, and I plan to use it to help parents navigate the different websites we’ll be using. Once we return to school, this could still be useful. I could use this tool to record lessons for homework, or for when a sub comes in.

  1. This was a great idea to use for this assignment. So many parents are not familiar with their children’s emails. Also, many (including myself) have never used google classroom before. You gave a great explanation of the site!

  2. I also used QuickTime Player to create mine. It was very simple to use. I created one showing parents how to get their child logged into SeeSaw and complete assignments. Of course now we hear that we won’t be able to use SeeSaw, fingers crossed that will change!

  3. Such a thorough explanation for the parents and students. I think this tool is especially useful to you, since it looks like you teach 1st grade, because we know 1st graders are not the most reliable! lol. I know this is going to tough on parents so by doing this I believe you will ease the minds of a lot of parents.
